Fellow GooRus,
As you may have heard, there are multiple wildfires endangering our community in Colorado. All of the Green Goo Crew are currently safe, but some of us have been ordered to evacuate our homes and we think there might be more evacuations in the coming days. We're a bit stunned by the enormity of the situation to be honest. We're still working on finding safe places for dozens of chickens, a few very dapper ducks, our bunnies, cats, and dogs. So there's a lot going on.
We wanted to let you know that there may be delayed timelines on shipments and deliveries and that it may be harder to get ahold of us for the next several days while we get ourselves to a safe place and reorganize to meet this latest challenge. We're working hard every day to make sure we get you the salves and all-natural body care that you rely on. Your patience is appreciated.
Our deepest gratitude goes out to the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to keep us, our neighbors, and our friends safe as they battle these historic natural disasters. We are also so grateful for the response from our community. St. Vrain’s Market in Lyons, for instance, has been cooking up and delivering sandwiches and additional baked goods, drinks, chips, and more to the firefighters with support from donations from people like you.
Please consider sending extra support towards the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the form of a donation to these amazing organizations. You can:
- Visit the Lyons Fire Department website and consider making a direct donation to boots on the ground.
- Donate to the Elevations Wildlife Relief Fund supporting those in need in Boulder and Larimer counties – Elevations Credit Union will match.
- Support the disaster relief efforts of American Red Cross of Colorado.
- Make a donation to Community Foundation Boulder County's 2020 Fires Relief Fund, seeking to meet immediate and long-term recovery needs.
- Learn more about helping those affected by the fires, floods, tornadoes, COVID-19, and more at Colorado Responds.
We will get through this together. We always do. And while we understand that there are hard days ahead, we are strengthened by the grit and support of our family, our community, and the brave men and women who are working together to save lives every day.
When things settle down we will send another message to let you know that things are back to normal (or at least as normal as one can expect from 2020). In the meantime, stay safe, hold your family close, and spread some goodness out there today.
Thank you for you.
The Green Goo Crew
Another update from St. Vrain Market. We are extremely grateful for the generosity shown toward our efforts to feed the fire crews. As of now, we have adequate funding and ask those wishing to help donate to other entities supporting those impacted by the #CalWoodFire https://t.co/drlEjziXTl pic.twitter.com/aEQaiCuUBk
